The 90° electrofusion transition elbow with female thread provides a quick and easy way to connect various types of metallic pipes to PE pipe systems. The PE spigot is electrofusion welded onto the pipe while the female BSPP thread accepts threaded metallic fittings — a simple but effective solution for house service connections.
The threaded insert is manufactured from brass CW617N/CW511L with a hexagon body for easy wrench tightening, available in ¾" to 2" female BSPP parallel threads. Covers PE spigot sizes from DN25 to DN63mm.
Manufactured from virgin PE100 black polyethylene with a 4mm Fusamatic automatic pin, rated PN16 for water and 10 bar for gas. Suitable for gas, water, wastewater, irrigation and mining applications. Operating temperature range: -10°C to +40°C.

What is a female thread transition elbow used for?

Which thread sizes are available?
Female BSPP threads from 0.75 inch (3/4) to 2 inch are available, matched to PE spigot sizes from 25mm to 63mm. The hexagon brass insert allows easy wrench tightening.
What is the difference between BSPP and BSPT threads?
BSPP is a parallel (cylindrical) thread typically sealed with a bonded washer or sealing compound, while BSPT is a tapered thread that seals by wedging. Our female transition elbow uses BSPP for standard parallel threaded connections.
Can this elbow be used for gas installations?
Yes. The fitting is rated water PN16 and gas 10 bar (depending on the PE pipe welded and local pipeline pressure regulations), and is suitable for gas, water, wastewater, irrigation and mining applications.
