The electrofusion balloon saddle comes complete with an external 2.5" male thread intended for underpressure flow-stopping kits and suitable drilling equipment for use on live HDPE mains. The saddle is welded directly onto the pipe wall, creating a fully welded, leak-free access point for stopping flow and drilling.
Post drilling, the balloon saddle is supplied with a 2" brass plug to seal off the transition saddle, restoring a fully welded, maintenance-free connection. A red cap protects the external thread during storage and transport.
Manufactured from virgin PE100 black polyethylene with a 4mm automatic pin, rated PN16 for water and 10 bar for gas. Suitable for gas, water, mining and irrigation applications. Operating temperature range: -10°C to +40°C.
