A420 WPL6 low temperature butt weld fittings are engineered for pipelines operating below the ductile-to-brittle transition temperature of standard carbon steel. This 45-degree elbow is manufactured from ASTM A420 WPL6 killed steel and undergoes impact testing at -46°C, ensuring exceptional toughness and safety in refrigeration and cryogenic applications.
Low temperature carbon steel fittings prevent brittle fracture that can occur when conventional carbon steel is exposed to cold temperatures. This elbow is normalized and impact tested, making it ideal for cold storage facilities, refrigeration systems, LNG auxiliary lines, and cold process piping.
Every A420 WPL6 elbow is manufactured to ASME B16.9 and ASTM A420 dimensional standards, with carefully controlled carbon, manganese, silicon, and phosphorus chemistry to ensure low temperature toughness. Each heat lot is impact tested and accompanied by complete material certification.
