1.Product Description
Stainless Steel Stub Ends (also known as lap joint stub ends) are pipe fittings that convert pipe ends into flanged connection faces. They consist of a straight pipe section and a flared lap at one end. The lap face serves as the sealing surface, while the back shoulder bears the fastening load from the lap joint flange. The product does not include a flange and must be paired with Lap Joint Flanges. Materials include 304/304L, 316/316L, duplex stainless steel, and nickel-based alloys. Based on the back contour, they are classified as Type A (straight neck transition), Type B (curved transition), and Type C (forged thickened), suitable for different pressure classes and wall thickness requirements. They offer an economical and flexible connection solution for piping systems.
2.Product Applications
Used with Lap Joint Flanges to form complete flanged connection assemblies for various steel piping systems.
Corrosive media transmission lines: The stub end contacts the media with stainless steel, while the flange ring can be carbon steel, enabling zoned material selection.
Large-diameter piping systems: The independently rotating flange ring solves alignment difficulties where rotating large-diameter pipes is impractical.
Pipe sections requiring regular maintenance: Such as pump suction lines, heat exchanger channels, and reactor discharge nozzles that require frequent cleaning.
Lines subject to vibration or thermal displacement: The fit clearance dampens vibration and absorbs minor axial thermal expansion.
