1. Product Description

A stainless steel reducer is a pipe fitting designed to connect pipes or tubes of different nominal diameters within a piping system. It provides a smooth, tapered transition from a larger bore to a smaller bore, ensuring continuous and stable fluid flow. Based on structural configuration, stainless steel reducers are classified into two types:

• Concentric Reducer: A symmetrical conical fitting where the centreline of the reduction coincides with the pipe centreline. It is ideal for vertical pipelines or applications requiring uniform flow distribution.

• Eccentric Reducer: An asymmetrical conical fitting where the centreline is offset. It is used in horizontal pipelines to keep either the bottom or top of the pipe level, effectively preventing air pockets or liquid accumulation.

There are two main types of stainless steel reducers:

• Concentric Reducer: A symmetrical, cone-shaped fitting that reduces or enlarges the diameter equally about the center line. It is widely used when single or multiple diameter changes are required.

• Eccentric Reducer: A cone-shaped fitting that reduces or enlarges the diameter but is not symmetrical about the center line. It is applied to maintain the top and bottom pipe level and to avoid trapping of air inside the pipe.
