This large diameter stainless steel reducer is manufactured to cover the widest size range in the industry, from 1/2 inch up to 72 inch, giving engineers a single reliable source for both small-bore and heavy-wall large-bore piping transitions. Fabricated from premium stainless steel plate or seamless tube according to the required diameter, each reducer is formed, heat treated and machined to a consistent wall thickness and bevel, then welded to the pipeline by butt welding. The ability to supply this stainless steel reducer in very large diameters makes it especially valuable for cooling water lines, desalination headers, process plants and municipal water projects where oversized pipes must be connected safely and economically.
For large diameters, we form the reducer from rolled and welded stainless steel plate, then perform full penetration welding, post-weld heat treatment and 100 percent visual inspection to eliminate surface defects. Dimensional checks cover the large and small end diameters, wall thickness, concentricity and the bevel angle, while radiography or ultrasonic testing is available for the longitudinal weld on request. This approach lets us deliver a large diameter stainless steel reducer that meets the same dimensional standards as smaller seamless fittings but at a competitive cost for big-bore pipelines.
