RG316D is an enhanced upgraded version of the classic RG316 coaxial cable. Retaining RG316's well-proven 50 Ω core construction—featuring an SCCS inner conductor, PTFE dielectric and FEP jacket—it upgrades to counter-wound dual-layer silver-plated copper braid shielding (2:SC). This interlocking braided mesh greatly lowers transfer impedance and delivers outstanding EMI/RFI suppression. At the cost of minor reduction in flexibility, the cable maintains full signal integrity for microvolt-level RF signals even under severe electromagnetic interference conditions.
The double shield acts as an "electromagnetic fortress." While the transmission loss (attenuation) remains exactly the same as standard RG316, the suppression of external noise ingress is vastly superior. Choose RG316D when:

RG316 is an excellent, flexible, and efficient single-braid coaxial cable for standard RF routing. RG316D is the more advanced shielding solution: it retains the same electrical transmission performance while adding a dual-layer, opposite-direction braid that delivers superior EMI/RFI rejection. When the application requires maximum signal integrity in electrically noisy surroundings, RG316D is the preferred choice. When compact size, easy routing, and production efficiency are the priority, RG316 remains a highly capable solution.
