Our 2D*38MM PLA bi-component sheath-core staple fiber is a high-performance eco-friendly thermal bonding fiber engineered for the fast-growing biodegradable nonwoven market. Manufactured through precision composite spinning technology with 100% polylactic acid, it replaces conventional petroleum-based low-melting fibers with a fully compostable, plant-derived solution while delivering reliable bonding strength and processing stability.
Unlike ordinary blended bonding systems, this fiber integrates both the binder and structural skeleton into a single filament. The outer sheath melts uniformly at 120-145°C, creating clean, consistent fiber-to-fiber bonds upon heating. The inner core remains solid at bonding temperature, preserving fiber morphology and providing mechanical strength to the final fabric.

Fully Industrial Compostable, Zero Microplastic End-of-Life
Derived entirely from renewable plant starch through bio-fermentation, PLA is a true bio-based and biodegradable polymer. Under industrial composting conditions, the fiber biodegrades completely into carbon dioxide, water and organic biomass within 90-180 days, certified to EN 13432 and ASTM D6400 standards.
The sheath layer melts evenly and consistently across every single fiber, creating uniform bonding points throughout the web with no over-melting or under-bonding defects.
