Twisted pair is the latest in ISO Class 7 /F standards. Instead of being an unshielded twisted pair, CAT 7 is a shielded twisted pair, with each pair having a shielding layer and four pairs combined together with a common large shielding layer. Physically, the additional shielding gives the seven types of wires a larger wire diameter. From the application point of view, this feature makes CAT 7 seven types of network cable mainly used in ten-megabit Ethernet technology.
The CAT 7 Class 7 cable can provide a combined attenuation-to-crostalk ratio of at least 500MHz and an overall bandwidth of 600MHz, more than double the Class 6 cable and Super Class 6 cable, with a transmission rate of 10Gbps for Class 7 cable.
