The Drum Twister/Laying up Machine is mainly used for cabling large section and great length power cables and communication cables, and stranding of high voltage or extra high voltage Milliken conductors, and also for steel tape or wires armoring and copper tape or wires armoring.

 

​The CPD drum twister with caterpillar is a versatile machine designed for cabling, screening, and armoring of conductors.

 

HV cables (Milliken) : laying-up of Cu conductors
Screening and armouring operations
Thanks to its flexibility, it is also used for steel wire armouring or/and copper wire screening of power cable by using central rotating pay-off for the cable to be armoured/screened and with addition of simple pay-off stands for copper/steel wires.
In such configuration the line can also be used in taping mode for large cable with pay-off and take-up being stationary.

Electrical control system

  • The main control cabinet is operated by touch screen PLC to coordinate and control the various parameter settings of each unit during the cable forming process, and can display the operating speed and parameters of each unit in real time, facilitating timely modification and adjustment of the operating parameters of each unit.
  • The power supply is a three wire five phase system 380V (± 10%) 50HZ
  • Working principle of electrical appliances: All driving motors are equipped with encoders, and the encoder feedback runs in the control system. The entire machine is controlled by PLC: the frequency converter, braking unit, air compressor, etc. complete the start-up, jog, normal parking and other operations, ensuring stable synchronization performance.
  • Reserved Ethernet interface. Equipped with remote communication module and remote technical service support function (customers provide their own SIM card or WiFi signal
  • Safety protection: This machine has multiple safety protections, which can take corresponding protective measures in case of faults or situations that do not meet the normal operation of the equipment, and timely display the fault point on the screen of the main control cabinet, so that operators can make timely and accurate judgments and effective treatment plans.
