• WireRope Mate supplies several varieties of ball fittings for wire rope and aircraft cable end terminations.
• Ball fittings must be rotary swaged to the cable in order to provide optimal strength and dimensions.
• 1/16” and 3/32” plain balls typically hold to 80% of 7x7 and 7x19 aircraft cable nominal break strength.
• 1/8” 5/32”, and 3/16” plain balls typically hold 60% of 7x7 and 7x19 aircraft cable nominal break strength.
• Single and double shank balls typically hold 100% of aircraft cable and general purpose wire rope break strength. For holding strength on strand products, a pull test is recommended.
