Continuous motor rotation drives a globoidal cam that engages the flange output's needle rollers, advancing the rotary table through a fixed station sequence. The dwell section of the cam mechanically locks the flange, holding each station rigid while tooling operates.

A cam indexer converts continuous motor rotation into precise intermittent (stop-and-go) rotary motion. A hardened globoidal cam engages needle roller followers on the output turret, advancing it one station per revolution and mechanically locking it during dwell — no electronic feedback, sensor, or brake is required.
