Drill Bit Working Length (Drilling Depth)

This drill bit has a working length (effective drilling depth) of 70mm. This means it can drill through wood up to a maximum thickness of approximately 70mm (approximately 7cm). Please note that the drill bit holder (shank) is not included in the effective drilling depth.

What should you pay attention to when using this drill? 

Safety First: Wear safety goggles to protect your eyes from flying sawdust. Ensure the workpiece is securely fixed.

Choose the appropriate speed: For wood and larger diameter drill bits, medium-to-high speeds are recommended. Consult the tool manual for specific speeds; larger diameters require lower speeds. A speed that is too low can cause the drill bit to bind or produce a rough hole; a speed that is too high can burn the wood or accelerate drill bit wear.

Keep the drill bit sharp: A sharp drill bit is more efficient and produces cleaner holes. If drilling feels labored, smoke appears, or the hole surface is rough, the drill bit may be dull.

Feed steadily: Apply steady, moderate pressure to advance the drill bit. Avoid excessive force that may break the drill bit or split the wood. Allow the drill bit to cut freely.

Evacuate chips through the hole: When drilling deep holes, withdraw the drill bit at appropriate times to help remove chips, or use compressed air to blow out chips.

Special Materials: Use only for wood and its products; never for hard materials such as metal.
