1. Product Overview

This series of seamless pipes is manufactured from high-quality carbon structural steel, integrally formed by a hot-rolled / cold-drawn seamless process. 3. Mechanical Properties

Mechanical properties are inspected batch by batch in accordance with the applicable standard.The table below shows typical values for commonly used grades; actual delivered values are subject to the Mill Test Certificate (MTC) supplied with each shipment.

Supplementary Notes

• Yield strength and tensile strength are minimum values specified by the standard; elongation is the minimum elongation after fracture
• For low-temperature service (e.g., -20°C, -46°C), Charpy V-notch impact testing can be agreed, with impact energy meeting contractual requirements
• Hardness is controlled per standard; A106 Gr.B typical value ≤ 200 HB, favorable for welding and further fabrication

4. Corrosion Resistance

Carbon steel is subject to oxidation and corrosion in humid, salt-spray, and corrosive media environments. This product can be supplied with different surface protection options selected according to the service environment, effectively isolating corrosive media, extending service life, and reducing life-cycle maintenance costs.

For severe environments such as buried pipelines and offshore engineering, a combined solution of 3PE external coating plus a cathodic protection system is recommended. Indoor exposed piping may use black paint or varnish protection, with periodic inspection and touch-up.

5. Technical Description

5.1 Manufacturing Process

The main production flow is as follows, with process quality control points set at each stage:

Round billet inspection → Heating → Piercing → Hot rolling (cold drawing / cold rolling) → Heat treatment → Sizing and straightening → Non-destructive testing → Hydrostatic testing → Final inspection → Stenciling, packing, and warehousing.

5.2 Chemical Composition

Typical chemical composition values (heat analysis, mass %) of common grades are listed below; actual values are subject to the MTC:

The low carbon equivalent design ensures good weldability; no special preheating is required under normal welding processes (except for thick-wall pipes and low-temperature environments).

5.3 Heat Treatment

• Grades such as A106 and A53 are normalized per standard requirements to refine grain size and homogenize the structure
• High-strength grades (X52 and above) may be supplied normalized or quenched and tempered per contract, ensuring a proper strength-toughness balance
• Cold-drawn pipes undergo stress-relief annealing to eliminate work hardening and ensure dimensional stability

5.4 Non-Destructive Testing and Tests

• 100% ultrasonic testing (UT) or eddy current testing (ET) on every pipe, eliminating defects such as laminations and inclusions
• Hydrostatic test on every pipe; holding time of at least 5 seconds; test pressure calculated per the standard formula and recorded
• Flattening, flaring, bending, and other process performance tests conducted per standard requirements

6. Quality Assurance

6.1 Quality Management System

The entire production process operates under the ISO 9001 quality management system. A three-level inspection regime covers incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products, with quality control points set at key processes to ensure consistent quality of every pipe.

6.2 Inspection and Documentation

• Mill Test Certificate (MTC, conforming to EN 10204 3.1) supplied with delivery; full heat/lot-number traceability
• Inspection items cover chemical composition, mechanical properties, process properties, non-destructive testing, hydrostatic test, dimensional and visual inspection
• Third-party inspection by SGS, BV, Lloyd's, etc. is accepted, with inspection reports delivered together with the goods

6.3 Marking and Packing

• Pipe body stenciled with standard number, grade, heat number, size, and manufacturer's mark; color-coded by grade
• Export-grade packing: steel strapping, pipe cap protection, moisture-proof wrapping; wooden crate / frame packing where required
• Handling and storage performed per established procedures to prevent mechanical damage and corrosion during transport
