1. Product Description

Wire rod is produced by hot rolling billets on special continuous rolling mills. It is a long product formed into coils that are used as a semi-product. Unlike other products of the steel industry, wire rod is classified into different classes of goods. Depending on the chemical analysis and the kind of use, wire rods can be classified into the following families: Low carbon wire rod for the production of wire mesh for the construction industry and the production of drawn wire (raw, annealed, and coated) Middle/high content carbon wire rod for the production of drawn wire Welding wire Wire rod from special steel for processing in forging, drawing, or press working

3. Material Grades

Common grades are ASTM A510, SAE 1006, SAE 1008, SAE 1010, SAE 1015, SAE 1018, Q195, Q235, and equivalent grades. Different grades can be selected according to the final application, such as cold heading, drawing, welding, or general structural use.

4. Surface Condition

The product can be supplied with black hot rolled surface, pickled surface, or oiled surface. Black surface is suitable for customers who will carry out further drawing or processing. Pickled and oiled surface is recommended for customers who require better surface finish and temporary rust protection.

5. Packing Details

Standard export packing includes waterproof paper, steel coils, and wooden pallets. Coils are usually wrapped with anti-rust paper and then packed into pallets to avoid damage during sea transportation. Special packing requirements can be accepted according to customer instructions.
