Working Principle: How Galvanized Corrugated Sheets Are Made

Galvanized corrugated sheets are produced through a combination of hot-dip galvanizing and roll-forming processes.

Step 1: Base Material Preparation

High-quality cold-rolled steel coils (grades SGCC, DX51D) are selected as the substrate.

Step 2: Hot-Dip Galvanizing

The steel strip passes through a bath of molten zinc at approximately 450°C. A metallurgical bond forms between the zinc and steel, creating a corrosion-resistant layer with Z30-Z40 coating (30-40 g/m² of zinc per side).

Step 3: Cooling & Inspection

The galvanized strip is cooled and inspected for coating uniformity, adhesion, and surface quality.

Step 4: Roll-Forming (Corrugation)

The flat galvanized coil is fed through a roll-forming machine with specially designed rollers that create the corrugated profile (crest height 50-100mm). This process:

• Forms the characteristic wave pattern

• Increases structural rigidity

• Creates water drainage channels

Step 5: Cutting

The continuous corrugated sheet is cut to customer-specified lengths.

Step 6: Packaging

Finished sheets are stacked, bundled, and packed with steel strips for safe transport.

Q1: What is the difference between SGCC and DX51D?

A:

• SGCC: Japanese standard (JIS G3302) for hot-dip galvanized steel, commonly used in Asia

• DX51D: European standard (EN 10346) for hot-dip galvanized steel, widely used internationally

Both grades offer excellent corrosion resistance and formability. We can supply either based on your standard requirements.

Q2: What is Z30-Z40 coating?

A: Z30-Z40 refers to the zinc coating weight of 30-40 g/m² (total both sides). This provides good corrosion resistance for standard roofing applications. Higher coating weights (up to Z275) are available for more corrosive environments.

Q3: What does "Full Hard" mean?

A: Full hard indicates the steel has been cold-rolled to achieve maximum strength and hardness. Full hard corrugated sheets offer:

• Higher structural strength

• Better resistance to deformation

• Suitable for roofing and load-bearing applications

Q4: What is minimum spangle?

A: Minimum spangle refers to a galvanized surface with very fine, barely visible zinc crystals. This provides a clean, uniform appearance preferred for modern architectural applications.

Q5: What thickness do you offer?

A: Standard thickness is 0.21-0.22mm. We can also supply thicknesses from 0.12mm to 2.0mm upon request.

A: We accept T/T(30% deposit + 70% balance against copy of Bill of Lading) .

Q12: What is the effective coverage width?

A: Due to overlap, the effective coverage width is approximately 100-150mm less than the full sheet width. Please confirm your overlap requirement for accurate quantity calculation.
