Manufacturing Process
Carbon Steel Plates are manufactured through precise metallurgical processes that determine their final mechanical properties, surface finish, and performance characteristics. Depending on the required grade and application, our steel plates are produced using either Hot Rolling or Cold Rolling technology.
Hot Rolling Process
Hot rolling is the primary method for producing structural carbon steel plates:
Heating: Steel slabs or billets are heated to 1100°C - 1300°C
Roughing Rolling:Compression to reduce thickness and refine grain size
Finishing Rolling: Achieving final thickness (0.12mm - 4.0mm) with precise control
Cooling: Controlled cooling for desired microstructure
Leveling & Cutting: Ensuring flatness and cutting to required lengths
Cold Rolling Process
For applications requiring superior surface finish and tighter tolerances:
Pickling: Acid treatment to remove surface scale
Cold Reduction: Rolling at room temperature for tighter tolerances and improved finish
Annealing:Heat treatment to restore ductility and formability
Skin Pass:Light final rolling for improved surface and flatness
Surface Treatment: Protective oil coating options available

Q1: What is the difference between hot rolled and cold rolled steel?
Hot Rolled Steel: Processed at high temperatures, has a scaled surface, wider tolerance, more economical, ideal for large structural applications.
