Product Description

Passive regeneration is to use chemical catalysis to reduce the reactivity of particles, which can make particles burn under the normal operating conditions of diesel engine and achieve the purpose of regeneration. Include NO2 regeneration, catalytic combustion regeneration filter (CDPF) regeneration and fuel additive regeneration.

(1) regeneration by NO2 In this method, DOC and DPF are used together. when diesel engine exhaust gas passes through DOC, at 200-600℃, CO and HC are almost completely oxidized into CO2 and H2O at first, and NO is converted into NO2. Then NO2 oxidizes particulates in DPF to generate CO2, and NO2 is reduced to NO, thus achieving the purpose of regeneration. Regeneration with NO2 takes up less space and is not expensive. However, this technology requires that the ratio of NOx to PM should be at least 15: 1, and it is only suitable for low-sulfur diesel engines. If the sulfur content is too high, sulfate will be generated, which will affect its use. At the same time, the passive regeneration needs a suitable exhaust temperature, and the temperature is too high, and the decomposition of NO2 is accelerated, which cannot form enough NO2; When the temperature is too low, NO2 oxidizes C too slowly.

(2) Regeneration of catalytic combustion regeneration filter (CDPF) CDPF is a kind of filter which is directly coated with oxidation catalyst to reduce the ignition temperature of soot, so that it can burn at the normal exhaust temperature of diesel engine and be completely regenerated in a specific temperature window (T>320-350℃). This technology also requires high sulfur content in diesel oil, which requires engine thermal management. When the exhaust temperature is low, emissions will increase.

(3) regeneration of fuel additive Fuel additives are generally soluble metals or metal salts, etc., and the metal oxides generated after combustion play a catalytic role on the particles, reducing the ignition temperature of the particles, so that the filter can regenerate itself without external energy at a lower exhaust temperature. However, when the combustion products of fuel additives flow through the filter along with the exhaust gas, some of them will be deposited. The additive metal combustion products accumulated on the filter body will block the pores of the filter body and shorten the service life of the filter. If the additive metal combustion products are deposited too much, the back pressure will rise, which will affect the power performance and economy of the diesel engine, and the metal floating dust discharged into the atmosphere will cause secondary pollution.
