Product Overview
PC4000-6 is a large mining face shovel excavator. The travel drive assembly (Final Drive) consists of a high-pressure travel hydraulic motor integrated with a multi-stage planetary gear reducer. It is mounted at the end of the track frame to drive the sprocket and track.
Adopting heavy-duty multi-stage planetary reduction structure, it amplifies motor output torque to handle heavy load climbing and harsh mining conditions. The assembly has built-in parking brake for automatic locking when stopped to prevent sliding.
Common part numbers: 92480040, 90603140. Some part numbers of PC4000-6 final drive are interchangeable with PC3000-6, but mounting flange and output torque are different. Always verify stamped part number before order.
Common Failures
Abnormal travel noise: Pitting or broken teeth on planetary gear and sun gear; worn bearing and damaged cage; contaminated or insufficient gear oil.
Weak one-side travel & track deviation: Worn pistons and slippers of travel motor causing internal leakage; stuck parking brake that cannot fully release; insufficient relief valve pressure.
Overheating of travel reducer: Worn gear pairs and increased friction loss; overfilled / underfilled or deteriorated gear oil; heat generated by motor internal leakage.
Oil leakage at housing seal: Aged and damaged output shaft oil seal and joint face gasket; blocked breather, high internal pressure blows out seals.
Stuck travel, unable to rotate: Locked planetary gear or broken gear teeth; stuck brake piston, brake cannot be released.
Purchasing Recommendations
Verify the stamped part number on old assembly and model PC4000-6 before placing order. PC4000-6 final drive cannot be directly interchanged with PC4000-11 or PC3000-6. Left and right travel assemblies share same part number.
New assembly or remanufactured assembly are available. For remanufactured final drive, request factory load test report and confirm warranty period.
Replace full oil seal and gasket kit during installation. Fill with dedicated reducer gear oil and clean hydraulic circuit to prevent premature wear of new assembly.
Inspection upon arrival: Check housing for dents and cracks, intact oil ports and flange surface, all oil ports well sealed. Perform no-load and load test before installation to inspect noise, temperature and brake performance.
Storage requirement: Store horizontally in dry and shaded area, seal all oil ports against dust and moisture.
