The PC4000/8000-6 is a Komatsu ultra-large mining hydraulic shovel. The machine uses multiple large-displacement variable displacement piston pumps supplying oil in parallel for working, rotating and other circuits, plus a pilot pump. 95601040 is one of the main pump part numbers for this model. These pumps have enormous displacement, very high power and very high unit price, making them the most critical high-value component of the machine.
Common Faults
Weak / slow movement on one pump or circuit: Internal leakage from worn pistons/valve plate/slippers in that pump section, reduced volumetric efficiency — measure each pump's pressure and case drain flow to diagnose.
All functions or a specific action weak: Insufficient main pump pressure, failed main relief valve setting, severe pump internal leakage.
Engine lugging / speed drop under load: Seized power regulator/control spool; pump stays at large displacement and absorbs excessive power.
High oil temperature: Severe main pump internal leakage, high-pressure oil converting to heat.
Oil leakage: Aged main shaft oil seal, worn end-cover O-rings, poor case drain.
Jitter / pressure fluctuation: Air in the system, seized regulator, scored valve plate.
