Most shops accept a certain amount of hand work after CNC routing. A rough pocket floor here, resin smear on melamine there, a few thou of residual stock that the finisher sands off later.
Multiply that across hundreds of sheets a month and it's real money.
This tool is built to delete that step.
How It Works
Unlike standard end mills that engage with the corner radius or sharp tip, this straight-bottom PCD bit presents a flat diamond cutting face to the workpiece. The entire tool diameter contacts the material surface simultaneously — cleaning, flattening, and finishing the slot or pocket base in a single lateral pass. No radial tool marks. No scalloped floor. No material left behind.

What Makes the PCD Edge Different
Here
Bottom cleaning is a worst-case wear scenario: large contact area, continuous engagement, high abrasive load from panel fillers and binders. Carbide edges round over quickly under these conditions — once the sharp corner is gone, the tool burnishes instead of cuts. Resin heats up, smears, and bakes onto the tool face.
Diamond doesn't have this problem. The PCD cutting edge maintains its geometry through abrasive panel stock, shedding chips rather than collecting them. Heat moves into the chip stream, not the tool body. The result is a genuinely flat floor on the thousandth sheet, not just the first.
