Grayish White No-Rinse CTP Plate Processless CTP Plate For Chemical-Free Printing
Processless CTP plates, also known as chemistry-free CTP plates, have revolutionized the plate-making process in the printing industry by providing numerous advantages over traditional plates. These plates eliminate the need for multiple processing steps, such as development, rinsing, and gumming, resulting in improved efficiency, cost savings, and environmental benefits.
Typically, processless CTP plates consist of an aluminum base coated with a light-sensitive layer. This layer contains a mixture of photopolymers and other materials that react to laser energy during the imaging process. When exposed to the laser, the light-sensitive layer undergoes a chemical change, making the exposed areas hydrophilic (water-attracting) while leaving the unexposed areas hydrophobic (water-repellent).
The imaging process for processless CTP plates involves the use of a laser diode or LED exposure system. These high-energy light sources selectively expose the light-sensitive layer, directly creating the desired image on the plate. Once the imaging is complete, the plate is ready to be mounted directly onto the printing press without requiring any additional processing steps.
By eliminating the need for processing chemicals and reducing the number of steps involved, processless CTP plates offer increased efficiency and cost savings for printing companies. The elimination of chemical processing is also environmentally friendly, as it reduces water consumption and eliminates the discharge of processing chemicals, contributing to a more sustainable printing process.
