DIN 41612 is a DIN standard for electrical connectors, widely used in rack-based electrical systems. Standardization of connectors is a prerequisite for open systems, where users expect components from different suppliers to function together. The most widely known use of DIN 41612 connectors is in the VMEbus and NuBus systems. This standard has been withdrawn and replaced by the international standards IEC 60603-2 and EN 60603-2.
DIN 41612 connectors are used on Pancon STEbus, Futurebus, VMEbus, Multibus II, NuBus, VXI Bus, eurocard TRAM main boards and Europe Card Bus, all of which typically use the male DIN 41612 connector on the Eurocards to plug into the female DIN on the backplane 41612 A 19" rack chassis.
