7Pin PCB 7W2 PCB Straight DB High Current Connector, featuring a 7 way 7W2 straight female pins configuration in a D-SUB connector PCB type design.
D-type connectors typically consist of two or more parallel rows of connections enclosed within a D-format metal shell. This design provides exceptional mechanical strength while offering limited electromagnetic screening capabilities. The metal shells of both plug and socket connectors make contact to enhance screening effectiveness.
Panel mounting connectors are secured using specialized nuts with additional threading that allows mating connectors to be firmly attached, preventing accidental disconnection. Free connectors can be equipped with backshells that provide either screening (when metal) connected to cable shielding, or protection (when plastic). These backshells also offer essential strain relief for cable management.
Standard connectors with two rows of pins (including 9, 15, 25, and 37-way configurations) feature pins spaced approximately 0.108 inch (2.74 mm) apart, with rows spaced 0.112 inch (2.84 mm) apart. Higher pin counts and increased pin densities are achievable through additional rows of pins.
