White Aluminum Oxide is produced using the highest quality Bayer process alumina. Strictly controlling the raw materials and furnacing practices used make sure that the alumina stays pure and has an optimized crystal structure. The primary composition of aluminium oxide is Al2O3, which should amount to at least 99.4%. As for the other elements, the content of SiO2 and Fe2O3 should not exceed 0.04%, while that of Na2O should not exceed 0.3%.
The physical properties of aluminium oxide are also important. It appears in white and has a Mohs hardness of 9. Its true density is 3.9g/cm3, and its bulk density ranges from 1.60 to 1.95g/cm3. The index of refraction is 1.76 and the Ig-Loss should not exceed 0.09%.
White corundum abrasive is perfect for the surface treatment of all kinds of high-end products, processes or hardware products. It can be used for derusting, decontamination, and removing oxidation skin on iron workpieces, which also increases their adhesion to coating. On aluminum pieces, it can remove oxidation skin and improve strength, as well as create a glossy finish. Copper workpieces can be stripped of oxidation and coated with a matte effect.
This abrasive can also be employed in solid, coated abrasive tools, wet or dry sand blasting, super fine grinding and polishing, and making superior grade refractory materials for the crystal and electronic industries. Additionally, it can be used to create crystal frosting on glass products, create a matte feel to engraved plastic products, execute plush processing and effect patterning on denim and other special fabrics.
