Zirconia (ZrO2) microbeads have many advantages in application, such as high strength, high toughness, high density, high hardness and excellent wear resistance and corrosion resistance. These properties make them perfect for the grinding industry.
Compared with conventional glass, Zirconia microbeads are 5-10 times more wear-resistant and have better overall performance. They are also easy to clean and reusable, making them ideal for industrial production.
95 Zirconium Beads contain up to 94-95% Zirconia. It possess a number of superiorities including high zirconia content, high wear-resistance, great liquidity, excellent product roundness, smooth surface and low wear requirements for equipment, compared with other grinding media.
TZP Zirconia beads bear nearly 95% of zirconium and around 4.8% yttrium, with specific gravity of 1.6 times more than ordinary zirconia beads. Under the same conditions of using, it shows higher efficiency of grinding. What's more, it has remarkable impact resistance and low wear. The excellent toughness of TZP Zirconia ceramics microbeads, while running at high speed or high concentration, will never crack, peel or wear, which is much better than other zirconia silicate beads. The wear rate is very low (ppm), and it helps to prevent material pollution.
True density of quartz is 6.05kg/dm³, and its bulk density is 3.75kg/dm³. On the Moh's hardness scale, quartz is 9. Moreover, its compression strength is between 1000-1300MPa, and its abrasion rate is 0.01kg/h.m³.
In general, quartz is a rather hard material. Its true and bulk density, compression strength and its abrasion rate indicate its resistance against extreme forces and pressure.
Zirconia balls are widely used in grinding media for high hardness materials, such as alumina, aluminum, glass, quartz, and feldspar, as well as glaze and other special materials. It has a comparatively high toughness, making it a suitable choice for use in abrasive mills and high speed stirring equipment. Besides, by their wear resistance, zirconia balls are even used in coating applications, including rubber and wear-resistance coatings. The popular sizes are 0.5, 1, 2, and 3mm.
Moreover, these zirconia balls are applicable to paints, graphite coatings, and raw materials for food and drug production. As such, zirconia balls are incredibly versatile and commonly used material in the industry.
Zirconia grinding media is securely packaged in strong, water-resistant cardboard boxes or drums to protect it from damage during shipping. The containers are sealed and labeled with the product name and quantity. The product is then transported in a climate-controlled environment to ensure quality delivery.
