Brown corundum is a type of abrasive material consisting of high-quality bauxite, anthracite, and iron filings. It is made by melting the raw material together at a temperature of 2000°C or higher. The product is then self-ground, magnetically selected to remove iron, sieved into different sizes, and has a dense and hard texture. Brown corundum is characterized by its high purity, good crystallization, and strong fluidity. It also has a low coefficient of linear expansion and corrosion-resistant properties.
This material is suitable for producing ceramic, high-resistance abrasive resin, and grinding, polishing, sandblasting, and precision casting applications. It can also be used to manufacture high-grade refractories. These characteristics make brown corundum an ideal aggregate and filler for the production of fused alumina refractories, as it is much more cost-effective than traditional abrasives.
