Ideal for porous purging plugs, seating blocks, and shrouds, it significantly improves pumping efficiency, casting rheology, and structural strength—ensuring uniform microstructures and strict dimensional tolerance control.

A1: HA600 features a median particle size of D50 = 0.6 μm (D90 ≤ 4.0 μm) and a BET surface area of 7.2 m²/g, whereas HA500 features a slightly finer median size of D50 = 0.5 μm (D90 ≤ 3.0 μm) and BET of 7.5 m²/g. HA600 provides a balanced rheological behavior for castables needing robust flow stability with controlled reactivity.
A2: The uniform singlet distribution reduces particle agglomeration, allowing for maximum void-filling efficiency. This drastically lowers the amount of water needed to achieve desired castable fluidity, resulting in lower porosity and higher post-firing strength.
A3: Alkali oxides act as fluxes that form low-temperature glass phases, reducing hot strength and slag resistance. Maintaining Na₂O ≤ 0.10% preserves superior high-temperature refractoriness under load.
