Radon Gas Sensor-RAD-17500 Phototransistor

 

1. RAD-1700 radon gas sensor is an online radon gas monitoring sensor developed and designed by Wanyi Technology. It complies with the GB50325-2020 "Standard for Control of Indoor Environmental Pollution in Civil Building Engineering", and adopts imported photoelectric transistor sensor technology from Europe. It features high sensitivity and consistency, and has been calibrated. Simple and easy to use, it is suitable for long-term online measurement and early warning in various fields such as buildings, indoor air quality, scientific research, and underground exploration.
2. Measurement principle: Phototransistor sensor. Silicon and an internal amplifier (bipolar junction transistor) for detecting radon sub-particles.

4. Precautions: The sensor must not be exposed to strong direct light! This may have a negative impact on the measurement results. During the measurement period, the sensor temperature must be maintained within the range of 0 to 40°C.
Warning: High voltage is generated inside the sensor. Although the high-voltage area is isolated and protected by the enclosure, the contact area between the measurement chamber and the surface of the mainboard can be exposed to high voltage. Hold the sensor carefully!

 

5. Measurement Suggestions
This sensor provides radon concentration levels every hour. Therefore, the first valid data is available one hour after power-on.
Due to the high variability of radon gas in the short term, radon gas concentration data may be severely affected by changes. Therefore, to obtain more accurate data, it is recommended to use an average value. The average value will represent the actual presence of radon in a better way than the instantaneous value. For short-term analysis, it is recommended to use the 72-hour average. For long-term analysis, it is recommended to calculate the average value of 5 to 7 days.
6.Test Results:
The results are expressed in becker units, denoted as becker per cubic meter of air (Bq/m3).
Outdoors, the average radon concentration is approximately 4Bq/m ³. The average radon concentration in households is 20Bq/m ³. For concentrations below 100Bq/m ³, the individual risk remains relatively low. However, the risk will increase as radon levels rise. There is no known "safe" radon concentration, but the lower the concentration you are exposed to, the lower the risk to your health
7. Suggestion: Households or places with radon concentrations exceeding 100Bq/m ³ should "strongly consider" taking remedial actions and strive to reduce radon gas concentrations to below 100Bq/m ³ as much as possible.
