Widely used in pre-column and post-column derivatization protocols, this ortho-phthaldialdehyde reagent reacts rapidly with primary amines in the presence of thiol compounds to form highly fluorescent isoindole derivatives.
Ideal for amino acid quantification in protein hydrolysates, physiological fluids, and food samples. Compatible with C18 reverse-phase columns and fluorescence detection (ex 340 nm / em 455 nm).
