Potassium dihydrogen phosphate is highly soluble in water but insoluble in ethanol. When dissolved in water, its aqueous solution exhibits acidic properties with a pH range between 4.4 to 4.7.
Technical grade MKP serves as an efficient phosphorus and potassium source for plants. It is ideal for root fertilization and foliar spraying, particularly recommended at the start of the growing and fruit season when the availability of phosphorus and potash is critical for developing root systems.
1. It functions as a high-efficiency phosphorus and potassium binary compound fertilizer. It aids in promoting root growth, flowering, fruit setting, enlargement, and coloring, as well as enhancing plant resilience against stress factors such as drought, cold, lodging, and pests/diseases. It can be applied through foliar spray, irrigation/fertigation, drop irrigation, or soilless cultivation systems.
2. Besides, it is used in formulating fertilizer blends and manufacturing liquid fertilizers.
Dosage & Timing: Exercise caution during the early growth phases (e.g., 1-3 leaf stage for seedlings, pre-flowering) to prevent potential issues like flower or pod drop. Apply during critical physiological stages like initiation, flowering, fruit setting, enlargement, and coloring.
Concentration: Avoid using high concentrations during periods of high temperature to prevent fertilizer burn. The recommended spray dilution generally falls between 300-800 times depending on the crop.
Application Time: For optimal foliar application, it is best done before 10 AM or after 4 PM.
