Product Description

Tallow Amine Ethoxylate 15 EO (PEG-15 Tallow Amine) is a non-ionic surfactant with slight cationic character that appears as a yellow oily liquid or paste at room temperature, with a pH of 6.0-7.0. Its molecular structure comprises a long-chain fatty group, a nitrogen atom, and a polyoxyethylene ether chain, conferring pH-responsive properties: it behaves as a cationic surfactant under acidic conditions and as a non-ionic surfactant in neutral or alkaline environments.

This substance is widely used in the textile industry as a leveling agent for acid metal-complex dyes, neutral dyes, and vat dyes, helping to reduce sulfuric acid consumption in the dye bath and improve dyeing uniformity. In viscose fiber production, it enhances fiber strength and processing performance. It also finds application in electroplating (improving coating brightness), pesticide emulsification, papermaking lubrication, and personal care products (such as shampoo additives). Its ammonium sulfate derivative is produced via a one-step process; it is biodegradable and suitable for use in dyeing and finishing auxiliaries as well as detergent manufacturing.

Applications

PEG-15 Tallow Amine is water-soluble; it exhibits non-ionic characteristics in alkaline or neutral media and cationic characteristics in acidic media, offering excellent leveling and dispersing properties.
PEG-15 Tallow Amine is primarily used as a leveling agent for acid metal-complex dyes; it allows for reduced sulfuric acid usage in the dye bath and minimizes damage to fabric strength. It also serves as a leveling agent for neutral dyes and vat dyes.
It acts as a leveling agent for wool, linen, silk, and synthetic fibers; at higher concentrations, it functions as an ideal stripping agent. When used for stripping and leveling wool and nylon fabrics, it improves fabric appearance.
In the production of viscose fiber tire cord, PEG-15 Tallow Amine serves as an additive that increases cord strength, improves viscose filterability and processing characteristics, and enhances monofilament strength.
PEG-15 Tallow Amine is used in textile applications as an emulsifier, antistatic agent, and dispersing agent.
