Product Description

PPG 400 is a polypropylene glycol with an average molecular weight of 400. At room temperature, it appears as a colorless, transparent, viscous, oily liquid. It is soluble in organic solvents such as alcohols and aromatic hydrocarbons and slightly soluble in water. It exhibits excellent chemical stability and resistance to acids and alkalis, along with outstanding lubricating, defoaming, antistatic, and plasticizing properties. It is compatible with various oils and non-ionic surfactants.

PPG 400 is commonly used in cutting fluids, defoamers and lubricants for metal cleaners, polyurethane raw materials, emollients for personal care products, dispersing aids for coatings and inks, and antifreeze additives. It is packaged in sealed plastic drums and should be stored in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area.

The PPG series is soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol, and trichloroethylene; PPG400 is water-soluble and exhibits lubricating, solubilizing, defoaming, and antistatic properties.
In cosmetics, PPG400 serves as an emollient, softener, and lubricant.
It is used as an antifoaming agent in coatings and hydraulic fluids, as well as in synthetic rubber and latex processing; it also functions as a heat transfer fluid (refrigerant and coolant) and a viscosity modifier.
It serves as an intermediate in esterification, etherification, and polycondensation reactions.
It is used as a mold release agent, solubilizer, and additive for synthetic oils; applications include additives for water-soluble cutting fluids, roller oils, and hydraulic fluids, as well as high-temperature lubricants and internal/external lubricants for rubber.
Polypropylene Glycol 400 can serve as a base material for daily chemicals, medicines, and oil-based products.
