Cocamidopropyl betaine is an amphoteric surfactant featuring a quaternary ammonium salt group as the cationic part and a carboxyl group as the anionic part. Derived primarily from coconut oil and its derivatives, this substance offers low irritation, thickening, antistatic, softening, bactericidal properties, hard water resistance, and excellent biodegradability.
Easily soluble in water with strong pH stability, CAPB is commonly combined with various surfactants to significantly enhance the softness, conditioning, and low-temperature stability of washing products. It is widely utilized in daily chemical products including shampoos, shower gels, facial cleansers, and oilfield oil displacement agents.
