Carbonless paper employs two complementary coatings—CF (coated front) and CB (coated back)—each embedded in microscopic capsules. Under the pressure of a stylus or printer head, the CB capsules burst and interact with the CF reagent on the sheet above, instantly producing a sharp image on the top surface while leaving the reverse side pristine. This clean, one-sided reproduction eliminates the need for messy carbon inserts and delivers consistently vivid results.
