The Used Sand Cooling & Reclamation System is an integrated solution designed to process high-temperature spent sand from casting processes. By utilizing physical (mechanical, pneumatic) or chemical (wet cleaning, thermal) methods, it removes binder films, dust, and impurities from the sand surface. The system cools the sand to a suitable temperature for mixing (typically ≤50°C), restoring its properties to "like-new" condition for reuse in molding.
Core Process Flow
A typical processing flow generally consists of the following four stages: Crushing & Preheating: Preliminary crushing of large lumps; optional preheating via heat exchanger to save energy using waste heat.
Reclamation/Delamination: The core stage where binder films are removed from sand grains via mechanical friction, or high-temperature calcination.
Cooling: Cooling the high-temperature reclaimed sand to ambient temperature to prevent binder failure during mixing.
Screening & Dedusting: Separating sand of qualified granularity and removing fines/dust to ensure permeability of the molding sand.
Main Equipment Types
A.
Spent Sand Reclaimer (Core Machine) This is the key machine determining the quality of reclaimed sand. Vibratory Reclaimer (S56 Series) Principle: Driven by vibration motors, the sand moves spirally in the trough. Intense friction between sand grains removes the binder film. Features: Combines crushing, reclamation, and conveying. Low sand breakage rate and high recovery rate. Application: Reclamation of resin sand and sodium silicate sand. Fluidized Bed Cooler (Auxiliary Reclamation) Principle: Friction between sand grains during the boiling process provides a certain delamination effect. Features: Extremely high cooling efficiency with uniform outlet sand temperature.

Sand Cooling Equipment If hot sand is not cooled, it causes moisture evaporation and binder failure during mixing. Fluidized Bed Cooler Advantages: Highest heat exchange efficiency. Outlet temperature stably controlled below 50°C. No moving parts, simple maintenance. Cooling Drum Types: Air-cooled drum or water-cooled drum. Advantages: Simple structure, suitable for sticky or dusty materials.
