The Clay Sand Molding Line is an automated molding system designed for green sand casting processes, widely used in the production of gray iron, ductile iron, and steel castings for automotive, agricultural machinery, pumps & valves, and machine tools. Based on high-quality clay-bonded sand, it achieves efficient, stable, and continuous mold production through automated processes including sand feeding, compaction, pattern release, and box closing.
The line features a modular design and can be flexibly configured as vertical molding lines (e.g., Disamatic type), horizontal parting flaskless lines, or automatic pouring lines, suitable for single, double, or triple-shift continuous production to meet diverse casting size and complexity requirements.
Key Process Flow
Molding Sand Preparation High-performance clay sand from the sand system is conveyed to the molding machine hopper via belt conveyor or bucket elevator.
Sand Filling & Compaction High-pressure or multi-ramming head compaction ensures uniform sand density and sharp mold definition, improving casting dimensional accuracy.
Mold Release & Conveying After automatic pattern release, molds are continuously conveyed via chain or roller conveyor to core-setting and box-closing stations.
Core Insertion & Box Closing Optional automatic core setters and closing units improve efficiency and consistency for complex castings.
Pouring & Cooling Supports manual or automatic pouring. After pouring, molds enter the cooling section for temperature reduction and preparation for shakeout.
Shakeout & Sand Recovery Castings are separated and sent to post-processing, while spent sand is returned to the sand reclamation system for recycling.
