The nut connects mechanical equipment through internal threads, matching with bolts of identical specifications. For example, an M4-P0.7 nut only connects with M4-P0.7 bolts (where M4 indicates ~4mm inner diameter and 0.7mm thread pitch). Similarly, 1/4-20 nuts match with 1/4-20 screws (0.25" inner diameter, 20 threads per inch).
