What is a standoff? As the name suggests, a standoff is one end for the internal thread and the other end for the external thread of a kind of screws. Broadly speaking, standoffs also include both ends with internal thread screws. Its appearance is hexagonal, playing a role in fastening and isolation. Because it is generally produced using hexagonal copper rod as raw material, the standoff is also known as copper column, hexagonal copper column, copper isolation column or copper spacer column.
Standoff screws are mainly used in computer, circuit board and other industries. When one end is screwed into the locked object, the hexagonal post is exposed to the outside, which can fix or isolate other objects.
The main specifications of standoffs are M3, M4, M5, M6, M8, M10, etc., with hexagonal posts of 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 15mm, etc. The most common is the M3 series.
Hexagonal studs are also known as yin and yang studs, featuring one end with internal thread and one end with external thread, both hexagonal, serving both fastening and isolation purposes.
Mostly used in computers, circuit boards and other industries. When used, one end is screwed into the workpiece being fastened while the hexagonal column remains exposed on the surface, allowing for fixation or isolation from other workpieces. For example, in computer mainframes, the external thread can connect to the motherboard inside the mainframe while the internal thread isolates the motherboard from the sheet metal shell.
