Product Overview

The Model HM2500/13000 CNC Pole Shut-Welding (Seam Welding) Machine is a heavy-duty, CNC-controlled automatic welding line developed for longitudinal closing welding of large-diameter poles. It is designed for monopoles, high-mast poles and 5G communication poles, with a workable diameter of 500–2,500 mm, wall thickness of 6–20 mm (Q235/Q355 steel) and pole length up to 13,000 mm. Built on a fixed gantry structure with a servo-driven V-shaped worktable, the machine automatically adapts clamping pressure, roller position and feeding speed to the pole diameter, keeping the welding seam always closed for smooth, high-penetration welding with minimal deformation.

Application Scope

The machine is suitable for automatic longitudinal closing welding of large-length, medium-to-large diameter poles, including:

  • 5G communication poles

  • One-shell or two-shell polygonal and circular tapered (conical) poles, equal-diameter or tapered

Working Principle

The machine adopts a fixed gantry-type structure with the welding system mounted on the gantry. The V-shaped full-length worktable (dolly) moves at adjustable speed under servo control, while the hydraulic cylinder pushes the clamping wheels to close the pole and perform welding at the same time. For two-seam (two-shell) poles, once the first seam is finished, the bottom roller rises and rotates the pole to the next seam position to start the second seam welding.

  • 3 sets of clamping rollers – Lower roller pressure means fewer surface marks and scratches, suitable for octagonal, polygonal and conical poles.

Labor Saving & Easy Operation

  • Motorized fast-return V-shaped worktable – No manual push-back, reducing operator labor.
  • Adaptive back pole guiding device – The weld seam position rarely needs adjustment in practical operation.
  • Camera-based seam monitoring – A camera on the machine head displays the weld seam on the main control panel screen, making seam tracking simple and easy.
  • Front loading and unloading – Only 1 operator is required for the whole line.
  • Self-developed hydraulic and CNC system – Keeps the welded pole round with small deformation.

Welding Process Note (Double-Arc Three-Wire Submerged Arc Welding)

For plate thickness greater than 10 mm, the machine can use double-arc double-wire (or double-power three-wire) submerged arc welding with a DC + AC combination:

  • The DC arc uses high current and low voltage, achieving large penetration;
  • The AC arc uses relatively small current and high arc voltage, increasing fusion width and obtaining beautiful weld formation.

This combination approximately doubles the welding speed, improves weld performance and reduces power consumption.
