The Model 340/14000 Light Pole Shut-Welding Machine is an automatic welding line specially designed for one-piece polygonal and circular tapered (conical) light poles. It welds the pole continuously from the small end to the large end with almost no leftover unwelded length, producing straight and stable seams while greatly reducing manual work in the following process. Equipped with both Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) and CO₂ Gas-Shielded Welding functions, it covers pole diameters from 60 mm to 340 mm and pole lengths up to 14,000 mm.
Key Features & Advantages
Full-Length Automatic Welding – Welds the pole from the small end to the bottom end across the full area, leaving almost no unwelded length, which minimizes manual work in the next process.
8-Set Clamping Rollers from All Directions – Evenly distributes pressure on the pole surface, reducing roller pressure and surface scratches; especially suitable for octagonal pole welding.
Dual-Side Push Cylinders – Provide strong closing force to close the pole, ideal for big-thickness, small-diameter poles.
Motorized Fast-Return Pulling Trolley – Returns automatically at high speed after welding, so no manual push-back is needed, greatly reducing operator labor intensity.
Pneumatic Clamping Device – Quick and simple compared with manual clamping. Pull-type design means no need to connect a welding ground wire to every pole before welding; welding speed is more stable, with less welding deformation after welding, and easier operation.
Dual Welding Processes – Supports both Submerged Arc Welding and CO₂ Gas-Shielded Welding in one machine.
Back-Side Silent Roller Support (Standard) – No back supporting trolley and no manual push-back required; makes loading poles onto the machine easier and reduces manpower.
Back Pole Guiding Device – Ensures accurate positioning throughout the welding process.
Application
The machine is designed for automatic seam welding of one-piece polygonal and circular tapered (conical) light poles. The dolly, driven by a speed-adjustable motor, pulls the light pole from the small end to the big end, while the hydraulic cylinder, through a mechanical chain and worm wheel, pushes the clamping wheels to close the pole and perform welding at the same time.

Both-Side Additional Hydraulic Cylinders – Suitable for small-diameter, big-thickness light poles or poles made of high-tensile-strength steel plate; provides strong closing force while performing seam welding at the same time.
Dolly Fast Return Device – After welding, press the button and the dolly returns to the main welding head at high speed and stops automatically (manual-type machines must be pushed back by operators, which is labor-intensive and time-consuming).
Pneumatic Clamping Unit – Easier and much faster than manual clamping. Note: push-type pole welding machines have no clamping unit and require connecting a ground wire to every pole before welding; by comparison, the pull-type machine offers more stable welding speed, less welding curve after welding, and no need to connect a ground wire for each pole.
