We start with solid metal billet, removing redundant material through multi-angle milling to form integrated hollow cavities, oblique holes, and the built-in articulated hinge structure. Compared with conventional 3-axis machining, 5-axis equipment completes all complex features in a single clamping. It avoids repeated repositioning errors and guarantees high coaxiality and matching accuracy of the hinge movable joint.

Material Processing Introduction

• 6061 Aluminum: The most widely selected material. It offers outstanding machinability, moderate tensile strength and good corrosion resistance. After sandblasting and anodizing, the surface gets uniform matte texture, scratch and oxidation resistance. It is cost-effective for most automation projects.
• 7075 Aluminum: Aerospace grade high-strength alloy. It features superior hardness and load-bearing capacity. It is suitable for heavy-load robot joints, but requires stricter cutting parameters and longer machining time.
• 304 / 316L Stainless Steel: For corrosive working environments. Stainless steel has much higher hardness, slower cutting speed and higher tool consumption. It delivers excellent rust-proof performance for wet or chemical exposure scenarios.
• Brass: Good lubricity for movable mating parts, easy machining, ideal for low-load hinge assemblies.

After milling, all sharp edges will be fully deburred to eliminate burrs on inner cavities and threaded holes. Multiple surface treatments are optional: retain raw machine texture, sandblast to homogenize surface, apply clear or black anodizing to improve wear resistance and anti-corrosion.
