This custom split bushing, also known as elastic slit collet sleeve, is precision manufactured by CNC turning and milling. Multiple elastic slots are machined on the cylindrical body to achieve uniform shrinkage for shaft clamping and positioning. Our elastic split bushing adopts one-piece CNC turning to form the outer circle and inner bore, then CNC milling cuts precise elastic slits. The slotted design allows the sleeve to contract evenly under external compression, firmly gripping the shaft workpiece without deformation.

We select premium raw metal bars. Stainless steel material provides good anti-corrosion performance and stable elasticity; 45# steel can be heat-treated to enhance hardness and wear resistance; aluminum alloy is lightweight for low-load scenarios. All raw materials are inspected before processing.

The inner and outer circular surfaces are finished by precision turning to guarantee high concentricity. The elastic slits are milled cleanly with smooth edges, removing burrs completely to avoid stress concentration. Every finished part undergoes dimensional inspection to verify bore diameter, outer diameter, slot width and parallelism.

We accept fully non-standard customization. You can provide 2D drawings, 3D models or physical samples. Our machining team adjusts the slot quantity, slot depth, wall thickness and size parameters to match your clamping force and assembly requirements.

Q1: What manufacturing processes are used for this split bushing?

A: The main processes are CNC turning and CNC milling. First, CNC lathe processes the blank bar to machine inner hole, outer diameter and end faces. Then CNC mill cuts the elastic slits. After machining, we conduct deburring, cleaning and full dimensional inspection. Heat treatment or surface passivation can be added as extra processes.

Q2: What materials can you use to produce this elastic sleeve?

A: We can machine 304 /316 stainless steel for anti-rust needs, 45# carbon steel for high hardness after heat treatment, 6061 aluminum for lightweight, and brass. Different materials bring different elasticity, wear resistance and corrosion resistance, you can choose based on your working environment.

Q3: What tolerance can you achieve on this CNC machined clamping bushing?

A: Normally we can reach tolerance +/-0.02mm. For high precision clamping applications, we can control tolerance down to +/-0.005mm. The specific tolerance will follow your engineering drawings.
