SS 301 Spring Temper Cold-rolled to 1/2 hard or full hard temper for optimal spring properties with tensile strength of 1,100-1,400 MPa (full hard). Springback is calculated and compensated in die design.
Progressive Die Stamping 8-12 station progressive dies for complex clip geometries with production rates of 150-300 SPM. Consistent spring force with variation less than 10% in retention force.
Retention Force Control Clip retention force designed to specification (typically 5-50N). Force tested with spring gauges on every production lot, including force-displacement curve in first article.
Edge Quality Stamped edges clean and burr-free (burr less than 0.1mm). Vibratory deburring standard on all clips to prevent damage to wiring insulation or mounting surfaces.
Surface Finish #4 brushed finish on exposed surfaces (decorative clips) or 2B mill finish for internal/industrial clips. Passivated after stamping to remove iron contamination.

SS 301 if the clip needs spring action - it flexes when installed and provides retention force. SS 304 if the clip is a rigid mounting bracket that doesn't flex. SS 301 in spring temper costs about 10% more but is essential for functional spring clips.
How long does a progressive die take to build?
3-4 weeks for standard DIN rail or cable clip dies, 5-6 weeks for complex multi-bend clips with tight tolerances. Laser cut prototypes available in 3-5 days during die construction.
What's the die cost?
$5,000-8,000 for simple clips (3-5 stations), $8,000-15,000 for complex clips (8-12 stations). Die life is typically 500,000-1,000,000 strokes before re-sharpening.
Can you design the clip from my mounting requirement?

Do you have standard clip designs?
We have tooling for standard DIN rail clips (35mm/15mm rail), cable clips (6mm-25mm diameter), and U-clips for common panel thicknesses (0.8mm-1.5mm). Standard clips have no tooling charge.
