I. Working Principle
1. Exhaust Gas Capture
Using the negative pressure suction principle, dust, acid mist, and organic waste gases generated by processes such as polishing and pickling are rapidly drawn into the duct through the hood.
The hood is designed for a wind speed of 0.5-1.5 m/s to ensure that no waste gases escape.
2. Co-processing
Combined with a downstream bag filter (to intercept metal dust) or a spray tower (to neutralize acid mist), this system achieves multi-stage purification.
II. Application Scenarios
Polishing process: Collects metal dust (such as copper and aluminum shavings) to reduce dust in the workshop.
Pickling/Degreasing: Captures hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid mist, and organic solvent volatilization.
Electroplating pretreatment: Covers plating tanks and cleaning tanks to prevent the spread of cyanide vapor.
III. Operation and Maintenance
Installation Key Points
The hood should be ≤0.3m away from the pollution source to ensure effective capture. Avoid right-angle bends in the piping layout to reduce air resistance.
Daily Maintenance
Weekly Inspection: Clean dust from the hood opening and inspect the sealing strip for deterioration.
Monthly Maintenance: Disassemble and clean the damper, and lubricate the adjustment mechanism.
IV. Safety Regulations
When handling flammable exhaust gases, equipment must be grounded and equipped with explosion-proof motors.
Operators must wear protective masks to avoid direct contact with high-concentration exhaust gases.
I. Core Structure
1. Hood Structure
Main Frame: Typically made of stainless steel, aluminum alloy, or corrosion-resistant PP, suitable for pre-treatment environments such as pickling and polishing.
Hood Shape: Designed to be rectangular, umbrella-shaped, or side-suction, depending on workstation requirements. A soft silicone seal can be installed on the edges to reduce exhaust gas escape.
Deflector: Manually adjust the deflector angle to control airflow direction and suction efficiency, adapting to different workpiece sizes.
2. Support and Adjustment Components
Bracket/Cantilever: Fixed or retractable brackets (such as three-joint cantilevers) support 360° flexible positioning and cover an area of up to 0.5-1.5 m².
Manual Damper: Adjust air volume using a knob or lever to meet capture requirements for varying exhaust gas concentrations.
II. Connections and Auxiliary Components
Pipe Connections
Standard connections have an inner diameter of 90-150 mm and use flanges or clamps to connect to corrosion-resistant pipes (such as PVC and fiberglass). Avoid right-angle bends in the piping layout to reduce wind resistance and dust accumulation.
Sealing and Protection
Sealing Strips: Silicone/rubber sealing strips are installed on the interface between the hood and the pollution source to enhance airtightness.
Protective Screen: A pre-installed metal filter (pore size ≤ 2mm) intercepts large dust particles or splashing liquids, protecting downstream equipment.
III. Differentiated Design
Corrosion-Resistant Material Selection
For strong acid environments (such as hydrochloric acid and sulfuric acid mist), 316L stainless steel or PP are preferred, resistant to corrosion at pH 1-14.
For high-temperature conditions (≤ 80°C), high-temperature-resistant coatings or alloy materials are required.
Expanded Functional Configuration
Can be combined with a pre-filter (such as a metal filter) or a small activated carbon adsorption module for primary purification of high-concentration exhaust gases.
IV. Typical Application Scenarios
Electroplating Tanks/Pickling Tanks: An umbrella-shaped hood covers the tank to capture cyanide vapor or acid mist. Polishing station: The side suction hood collects metal dust in a directionally controlled manner to reduce dust in the workshop.
