There are many kinds of raw materials for carburizing agent, and the production process is different. There are wood carbon, coal carbon, coke, graphite and so on. There are many small types in various categories.
Characteristics of carburizing agent
1) The particle size is moderate, the porosity is large, and the absorption speed is fast.
2) Chemical composition is pure, high carbon, low sulfur, harmful ingredients are relatively small, high absorption rate.
3) The product has good crystal structure and improves the nucleation ability of the original molten iron. During inoculation, the number of nodular graphite cast iron is increased, and graphite core is added to the iron melt of the electric furnace, and the distribution of homogeneous graphite in the casting is refined.
4) Excellent performance and stability. Proper carburizing agents can help reduce the cost of smelting and improve the quality of smelting metals and castings.

a. High carbon : High purity 98.5-99.5%
b. Low sulphur : 0.01% ~ 0.05%. Low sulphur and stable distribution can effectively reduce the adverse effect of sulphur in spheroidizing and
pregnant process to the alloy, and it saves the cost.
c. Low nitrogen : nitrogen content 50 PPM ~ 300 PPM(0.005%-0.03%)
d. High carbon recovery: 92- 98%.
e. Fast absorption speed: it's easily dissolve in the molten iron.
f. High graphite crystal nucleus and high graphitization degree: it can reduce the iron liquid contraction tendency and improve the mechanical
properties of casting.
g. It may increase the dosage of scrap steel and reduce the demand of pig-iron or even without adding pig iron. It may well effectively avoid the
heredity of pig iron to affect the casting.
h. Stable carburetion, good absorption rate and distinct temperature-lifting effect: There is no return slag. It can effectively protect and lengthen the
furnace life and reduce the consumption of the furnace lining.
