What is the difference between 304 and 304H?

Type 304/304H is a modification of Type 304 with carbon content controlled in the range of 0.04 to 0.10 for increased strength at temperatures above approximately 800 degrees F. Unlike 304L, Type 304H with a higher carbon content makes the steel more suitable for use in higher temperature applications.

What is 304H stainless steel?

Type 304H Stainless Steel
It is an austenitic chromium-nickel steel alloy and the greater carbon content delivers an increased tensile and yield strength. The material is recommended for use in ASME pressure vessels in working service above 525 °C due to the grade's heat resistant properties.

What is No 1 finish in stainless steel?

A moderately rough and dull surface, a No. 1 Finish involves rolling stainless steel that has been heated prior to rolling (hot-rolling). This is accomplished by a heat treatment that produces a uniform microstructure (annealing) and ensures that the stainless steel will meet mechanical property requirements.
