The Anderson Power Products (APP) SB 50 connectors, based on a design pioneered in 1953, are a standard for DC power distribution and battery connections. These two-pole connectors feature a one-piece plastic housing with stainless steel springs to secure low-resistance contacts. The SB50 series accommodates wire sizes from #16 (1.5 mm) to #6 (13.3 mm). They offer options for silver or tin-plated copper contacts, enabling UL-rated currents up to 120 amps. The connectors are UL-rated for hot plugging up to 50 amps, making them suitable for applications requiring circuit interruption. Available in standard and chemical-resistant housings, with various color-coded mechanical keys for voltage identification, the SB50 system supports wire, PCB, and busbar contact terminations for versatile connectivity.
