The Kycon SMPX Series Surface Mount PLCC Socket is designed for electronic PC boards requiring a socket with footprints compatible with common Plastic Leaded Chip Carriers. It accepts molded plastic chip carriers conforming to JEDEC Specifications MO-047 for square and MO-052 for rectangular configurations. Key features include visual and mechanical polarization for easy PXLCC insertion, an open frame design for convenient contact inspection and repair, and suitability for high-temperature SMT soldering up to 230 C. Optional PCB polarizing pegs are available, and the socket offers a low profile with less than 0.2 mated height. It also includes extraction tool slots and an open-top design for cooler running chip carriers, making it compatible with automatic insertion machines. The SMPX series is CSA/NRTL Certified.
