Product Overview
BergStik 2.54mm pitch unshrouded headers offer versatile Board-to-Board, Wire-to-Board, and Cable-to-Board interconnect solutions for a wide array of electronic equipment and devices. Available in surface-mount (SMT), through-hole (THT), press-fit, stacking, and pin-in-paste (PIP) versions, these headers are designed in single and double rows with straight or right-angle options, supporting 2 to 72 positions. Featuring a "breakaway" design, each connector can be customized to the required length. The product range includes standard and special sizes, continuous headers, and stacking headers, providing economical and flexible solutions for various applications. They are specified for up to 100 mating cycles, with a maximum current rating of 3A per contact.
Pin-in-Paste (PIP) Processes
BergStik PIP headers are molded in high-temperature thermoplastic, capable of withstanding 260C peak temperatures for up to 30 seconds in reflow ovens. The specialized housing design for double-row straight products includes higher standoffs to facilitate good solder paste deposit. PIP technology enables the use of THT connectors within SMT manufacturing processes, offering mechanical strength through THT leads and allowing for automated or manual soldering in the same operation as SMT components, crucial for industrial and automotive markets.
